Through examination and discussion of primary source documents, students will learn more about the life of soldiers during the American Revolution, analyze letters from the period to learn about food, medicine, and illnesses faced by the soldiers, understand their day-to-day decision making processes, and determine why people joined the Revolutionary cause. To end the program, students will read excerpts from the diary of a soldier who was present at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781!
