Explore & Grow: Legos

ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP RESOURCE

Colorful painted illustration of a smiling LEGO-style minifigure wearing a blue vest and red shirt against a pink and purple background. Large white text reads “LEGOS.” At the bottom, it says “Explore & Grow Field Trips with Braintree – Enriching Educational Resource.”

Explore & Grow: LEGO Turn bricks into brainpower! This print-and-go packet invites students to plan, build, test, and explain their ideas—whether they’re designing sturdy bridges, tall towers, or clever contraptions. It blends STEM thinking with sketching, vocabulary, and quick writing, and it’s flexible by grade band so you can print exactly what you need for centers, makerspaces, or at-home learning.

What’s inside (highlights)

  • Design challenges (bridge/tower/vehicle) with simple constraints

  • Plan → build → test → improve cycle prompts

  • Sketch-and-label pages to visualize ideas

  • Quick measurement/data tasks (height, span, bricks used)

  • Short writing reflections: explain choices, compare designs, set next steps

How to use Preview key terms (prototype, stability, symmetry, iterate), set a clear challenge and constraint (e.g., span 20 cm or reach 30 cm), then run a build–test–improve cycle with quick notes or data tables; wrap up with a short explanation or simple bar graph of results. Print only the pages you need by grade level.
