Explore & Grow: Power of Water

ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP RESOURCE

Painted illustration of powerful ocean waves crashing under a glowing sunset sky, with sunlight reflecting across the water. Large white text reads “Power of Water.” At the bottom, it says “Explore & Grow Field Trips with Braintree – Enriching Educational Resource.”

Explore & Grow: The Power of Water Make a splash with hands-on science! This print-and-go packet turns everyday water into a force for discovery—students test pressure and flow, explore how nozzle size changes distance, model erosion and weathering, and capture their thinking with age-friendly writing prompts. Use it for quick experiments at school or home or pair it with the included “Super Soakers” science links to extend the fun.

What’s inside (highlights)

  • Bite-size pressure & flow investigations (distance, speed, nozzle size)

  • Force & motion data tables for simple measurement and graphing

  • Erosion/weathering mini-labs using soil/sand and controlled pours

  • Quick CER (Claim–Evidence–Reasoning) writing prompts (K–8 friendly)

  • Optional extensions with curated Super Soakers science videos/links

How to use Preview key terms (pressure, flow rate, erosion), gather simple supplies (cups/bottles, rulers/tape measures, tray/soil), then test, measure, and note observations; wrap up with a short CER write-up or compare/contrast of two nozzle designs. Print only the pages you need by grade level.
