This helps facilitate your student’s confidence and comfort with the test platform, tools, and layout.  Here are more resources about the OSTP testing. OSTP Prep Documents 2026 What to do if you are currently using Mac/Apple products:  Windows PC (desktop or laptop) is the only type of device supported by the Cognia platform. NO Apple/Mac products will work with the Cognia platform.  Here are some suggestions for testing virtually from home if you do not have this type of device. Use supplemental learning funds to purchase a laptop that is compatible with testing.  (Multiple session times will be available throughout the testing window, so one laptop can be used for multiple students.)  Borrow a laptop from family/friends to use for testing. Borrow a laptop from Norman Public School. (This would require driving to and from NPS to pick up/check out and drop off the laptop upon completion. Many parents used this option last year, and it worked well.) Pro Tip for Cognia virtual at home testing: Taking the OSTP practice tests linked above also allows you to ensure your technology can handle the testing requirements.  Visit the OSDE Parent Portal Toolkit for more official information about the OSTP testing program.        Questions?  Email: oklahoma.testing@braintreeEd.com    Please Note:  OSTP State Testing is a state requirement and a          mandatory component of the Braintree Education Systems program.  We’re inviting families to take a short community survey to help us better understand what matters most when it comes to your child's education.   It takes about 2 minutes and includes just seven quick questions.    As a thank-you, once you complete the survey you’ll receive a free Summer Fun Activity Packet—25 pages of hands-on learning your kids can enjoy this summer. • Indiana Supplemental Points

UPDATE! Starting Fall 2025, student supplemental learning points will be increasing to 190,000 pts (170,000 years prior). Indiana Funding Braintree Academy Directors and Cloverdale Community Schools admin team are pleased to be able to provide the following updates to the approved list in Indiana. Please keep in mind that this list is not exhaustive and is meant to serve as a general guide for families. These updates are in addition to the changes that were made in previous school years. See the article below this one for those updates from last year.  ****Indiana points have different rules and restrictions than the other states. Please reach out to Indiana@BraintreeEd.com   or email Funding+IN@BraintreeEd.com . Each student K - 10 receives 190,000 supplemental learning resource points each year. Half of those points can be used per semester. (95,000 for 1st semester and 95,000 points for 2nd semester.) Any unused points from the first semester rollover to second semester but no single item can exceed 95,000 points total. For reference, one point is the equivalent of 1 cent.  Guiding questions to consider when creating a Direct Order or request: How is it educational? Do students at Cloverdale have access to this? Where does it fit in the school day? Is it appropriate for students to use during a traditional school day? Does it have a resale value? Point Limits: Non-consumable items are limited to 5000 points before taxes. This includes things like books, STEM supplies, educational toys and games, headphones, computer accessories, science equipment, microscopes , etc. Non-consumable items are items that can be used multiple times for multiple students and are not “used up” after the student uses the item.  Consumable items include school supplies, secular consumable curriculum, pdf downloadable student materials, etc. are approved over 5000 points. Consumable items must be secular in order to be approved and are items that are typically used by one student and once the student uses them, they are no longer able to be used or sold. Tech Purchasing Guide  | Your student’s success starts with the right tech! From desktops to tablets, discover how to choose and order for the devices your student needs for testing, classes, and more. Use your Supplemental Learning Points wisely and make sure your student is set up for a smooth year of learning—anywhere, anytime! Technology items  and rules have not changed from the previous year. These items are able to be purchased but must follow the technology rule. Listed point limits include all taxes and shipping.  Technology items include: Either a Printer OR 3D Printer (up to 30,000 points) - 1 printer per family every 3 years Laptop/desktop computer/tablet (up to 95,000 points) - 1 of each type of device per student every 3 years - Students may select a laptop one year and a desktop the next Kindles (up to 30,000 points) (basic e-readers do not fall under this category) Sewing Machines (up to 95,000 points) Book Sets: Sets of books are able to be purchased above the 5000 point limit as long as the cost per book is under 5000 points. Some examples include Harry Potter, Junie B Jones, Wingfeather Saga, Magic Treehouse, Boxcar Children, etc. Example: A Harry Potter book set is advertised at 10,000 points (hypothetical). Secular Curriculum Sets: Secular curriculum sets are able to be approved over 5000 points. This includes publishers such as Saxon Math and Singapore Math. Microscopes up to 10,000 points (available to students enrolled in grade 9 only) High School Text Books up to 10,000 points (available to students enrolled in grade 9 only) Vendor Payments: As per the Braintree Academy Parent Guidebook, all vendors in Indiana paid by Braintree Academy are required to complete the Request for Approval as a Braintree Vendor Form. A W-9 will be completed as part of the form so Braintree Academy can send a 1099 if the vendor is paid $600 or more per the IRS. Vendors will also be agreeing that all teaching to a Braintree Academy student is secular in nature. A blank W-9 is included to complete and attach to the form. Thank you for your cooperation! Please note that this is specifically for vendors providing services to our students, such as sports, lessons, tutoring, co-ops, or classes.  This is not for vendors selling items, such as school supplies, curriculum, and technology. What about other items/resources? Will my specific request be approved? The funding team is happy to answer your specific questions about what expenses will be approved. The best way to get answers to your funding questions is to attend the funding team's daily office hours during the school year. There are several team members there ready and willing to answer your questions. You can also email funding+IN@BraintreeEd.com

Enrollment in two public schools is allowed in these circumstances: Between IHLA and homeschooling Between IHLA and private school Between IHLA and another school within Oneida School District IHLA allows students to dual enroll between IHLA and another Charter School, but the other school may have policies in place that do not allow dual enrollment between two charter schools. Students who would like to enroll between two public schools need to reach out to Trixy Lind at trixy.lind@malad.us Credits from other schools will be reviewed and credits from homeschooling and private schools might not transfer, depending on accreditation of original credits. Students can also take courses through colleges or IDLA ( Idaho Digital Learning Alliance ) as well.  The amount of the student's supplemental learning fund would be lower if the student is dual enrolled. For exact amounts, contact the funding team (attend one of their daily office hours or email: orders.braintree@malad.us   Enrollment in two public schools policies do not apply to sports, unless the school requires students to take a class to participate in sports. Field Trips Policy Attendee policy: In order to prioritize our amazing students and their families, our initial event sign up spots will be open to Braintree Academy students and one parent. During the initial sign-ups families may pay for additional guests who are immediate family only.  Invitations for events will not be initially open for people outside the student’s immediate family. Student and immediate family spots are not interchangeable with people outside of the immediate family. If additional spots are available before the event sign up deadline, the event may open to people outside the immediate family (guests).  An email will be sent 5-7 days prior to the event to Braintree Academy families who are already signed up for the event to let them know additional spots are open. Costs: Costs for Braintree Students and one parent from the family are covered by Braintree Academy.  Other immediate family guests' costs need to be covered by the family. If the invitation is open to other guests, the Braintree family is responsible for making sure those costs are covered for their guest(s) Costs and deadlines are outlined in the event invitation Field Trip Sign Up: Families should sign up for the event in their area, or if they are traveling, they can sign up for an event in the area they are traveling to. Please only sign up for events you are committed to attending. Many events are limited in capacity.  For Treasure Valley  families, please be sure to choose just one event in your area to give other students the opportunity to attend an event.  If there are still spots available 5-7 days before the event, families can sign up for that event in addition to the other event they signed up for. If more than one event is signed up for, the family will have to be removed from all events. Cancellation Policy: The default cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to the event. Please read the invitation carefully for deadlines specific to that event. WATCH THIS VIDEO  to learn how to cancel your field trip. For more information or questions: FAQs Email events@braintreeed.com Idaho families email events.braintree@malad.us Grading Policy Grading scale for all states; Grading Scale Grades K through 6: P - 70% to 100% F - Below 70% Grading Scale Grades 7 & 8 (and all High School programs): A – 90 to 100 B – 80 to 89 C – 70 to 79 D – 60 to 69 F – 0 to 59   Our program is based on a mastery education model.  This means that student grades are based on mastery of the Learning Goals and personal educational goals. Daily work is important for practicing the skills, but we do not need to see everything a student does. The biweekly learning logs and Learning Goal portfolio submissions allow students to show learning samples on specific Learning Goals and educational goals at the grade level they are working. Any student working more than one grade level below their enrolled grade level will be referred to the Student Success Team who can offer additional support and resources.  A certified teacher will review each learning log and Learning Goal portfolio submission submitted and ensure the student has met the criteria set by the district. We expect students will be able to earn grades of 100% as the parent works with the teacher to ensure assessments meet the required criteria (i.e., learning and effort are demonstrated by the student) and assessments are turned in on time.  Note: High School students' workload will be different from the K-8 program.  If a student is struggling in daily work and not reaching mastery goals, the homeroom teacher is there to help. Parents or students may  request help on any concepts through email, text, or by attending a teacher’s office hours. The homeroom teacher can provide additional resources, support, and, if needed, a referral to the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).  Grade Level Retention Policy We strongly believe in promoting students to the next grade level based on their academic achievements and individual growth whenever possible. We aim to provide students with the necessary tools and resources to be successful.  Grade retention, or the practice of repeating a grade level, is generally discouraged. We firmly believe that with the right support and interventions, students can reach their full potential and continue to thrive academically. Studies have shown that grade retention can significantly delay a student's path to graduation and limit their future opportunities and increase their chances of dropping out in high school. However, we acknowledge that there may be rare circumstances where grade retention is deemed beneficial for the student's long-term success. If you, as a parent or guardian, have concerns about your child's academic progress and are considering grade retention, we request that you follow our established procedure. First, we ask that you compose a letter addressed to the school administration, explaining your reasons for contemplating grade retention. This letter should include any specific observations or concerns you have regarding your child's educational development. If those concerns are related to academic achievement, you will also need to complete a Tier one intervention form with your homeroom teacher and work with our Student Success Team to collect data for a minimum of six weeks.  Additionally, we strongly encourage you to provide any supplementary documentation that could further aid us in assessing your child's situation. This might include academic evaluations, diagnostic assessments, or recommendations from educational specialists who have worked with your child in the past. Such documentation will help us tailor our support to meet your child's unique requirements effectively. Upon receiving your letter, supplementary documentation, and collecting data through the Student Success Team if applicable, we will schedule a meeting with you, the administration, and the appropriate teachers to discuss your concerns in detail. This meeting will allow us to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's academic needs, consider alternative support strategies, and explore potential solutions together.  Our dedicated staff is committed to working collaboratively with you to ensure your child's success. We will explore various academic interventions and support services to address any areas of concern. These may include tutoring, additional learning resources, or modifications to the curriculum to accommodate your child's individual needs. It is important to note that grade retention should be considered as a last resort and reserved for situations where there is substantial evidence that repeating a grade would genuinely benefit the student's overall educational growth. Our collective goal is to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can flourish. We appreciate your trust and confidence in our virtual school program. Please feel free to reach out to Kristin Skinner @ kristin.skinner@malad.us  (Idaho) or your state coordinator (all other states) to schedule a meeting or address any questions you may have. Together, we will ensure that your child receives the best possible educational experience.
