Join Canyon Springs Garden Outreach and Master Gardener volunteers for a hands-on nature and garden experience. Each session includes a story, garden exploration, and a creative project that encourages curiosity, environmental awareness, and a love of nature.


Each date features a different theme and activity. Space is limited to 25 students per session, and families may register for one date only. Please read each session description carefully before signing up.


🌲 Friday, March 7 – Winter Ecosystems & Pinecone Bird Feeders

Students will explore winter habitats through the story Over and Under the Snow. Activities include creating a pinecone bird feeder and participating in mini garden tours focused on winter ecosystems and wildlife.

🌸 Friday, March 14 – Seeds, Flowers & Caring for Nature

Inspired by Miss Rumphius, students will learn how plants support people, animals, and the environment. Students will participate in winter sowing seed starting and enjoy guided garden exploration.

🪱 Friday, March 21 – Life Above and Below the Soil

Using Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt, students will discover how ecosystems function above and below ground. Activities include creating a seed observation cup and exploring garden spaces to observe plant growth.

🌱 Friday, March 28 – Growth, Resilience & Mini Gardens

Students will read The Gardener and learn about plant growth and community. Participants will create a mini garden in a seed tray and explore the winter garden, propagation room, and greenhouse.



Who:  All Braintree Academy IHLA students, as well one parent and siblings under 5.


Cost:  Free for all Braintree Academy IHLA students and one parent. 


PLEASE READ: Due to limited space and supplies, this activity is reserved for Braintree students. Younger siblings under age 5 are welcome to attend but may not be able to fully participate unless sharing materials with an older sibling. Space in the venue is limited to one parent or guardian per family. If possible, please plan to bring only registered Braintree students to this event.
