Grab your brushes and join us for this month’s watercolor class as we paint a mama and baby wombat. Mrs. Chaplin will guide students step by step as they bring this sweet scene to life using simple watercolor techniques. Whether your student is new to watercolor or already loves to paint, this is a fun chance to practice and create something special.

Before the Event

Please print the outline and have the reference photo ready before class.

For best results, print the outline on 8.5 × 11 watercolor or mixed media paper. If your watercolor paper is larger, you can trim it to size. Another option is to place watercolor paper over the printed outline, hold both up to a bright window, and trace the image onto the watercolor paper.

Supplies to have ready:

  • Watercolor paints

  • One fine-tip brush

  • One thicker brush

  • Micron fine-tip pen

  • Cup of water

  • Paper towels

Optional: If you'd like a clean border around your finished painting, you can use masking tape or painter’s tape around the edges of your paper.

A Note for Participants

This is a very popular class and we want everyone to have the best experience possible. Please plan to remain muted unless called on so Mrs. Chaplin can guide the lesson smoothly. Questions about color mixing, brush size, or painting techniques are always welcome!

When: Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10:00am PT / 11:00am MT / 12:00pm CT / 1:00pm ET

Who: Open to all Braintree Academy families!
