Anchor 3-5 Project-Based Science- Sea to Summit

Class Fees are $10 or 100 points per semester.

The 3-5 Project-Based Science- Sea to Summit class is a full-year ocean and land science course designed for K–5 families who want to learn together. In Semester 1, students dive into ocean science, exploring where Earth's water is found, what lives in the deep, what shapes the ocean floor, and how real scientists track and study animals they can almost never see. Semester 2 comes ashore, uncovering what land is made of, the forces that crack, carve, and reshape it over time, and how living things and landscapes build each other in surprising ways. The year closes with a student-driven capstone project asking what land needs from the people who call it home.  

These are project-based classes that allow students to explore fun topics, either independently (with age-appropriate support) or in groups. These classes do not have a live meeting, but all materials and information will be available in the LMS. Students will have daily lessons to complete at home and a weekly submission that works toward the monthly project. Siblings, friends, or co-ops can all work together. At the end of each unit, students will share their projects on a discussion board to showcase their learning.

Anchor classes are available year-round. Students who request mid-semester will have their anchor class added to the LMS on Mondays.
