Topics in these classes will be similar to courses in the live Social Studies and Science classes. Students will work through 3 units each semester. These units are 4 weeks long and follow a consistent learning path:
Week 1 | Engage (Required assignment) Students will be introduced to the concepts that they will explore during the month. |
Week 2 | Investigate (Optional Assignment) Students will be given options to further explore the concept through an extra credit choice board |
Week 3 | Create (Required Assignment) Students will complete a lab or another project to demonstrate their understanding of the concept they have been studying. Options will be given on the choice board, or students can work with their teacher to propose a different option. |
Week 4 | Share (Optional Assignment) Students are invited to share what they have learned with their peers or family. They will receive extra credit for sharing their work on a class discussion board and for providing positive feedback to peers. They can also record themselves presenting their projects to people at home. |
Anchor classes are available year-round. Students who request mid-semester will have their anchor class added to the LMS on Mondays.
