Class Fees are $10 or 100 points per semester.

In Earth Science students will explore the world around them. They will learn about the rock cycle, tectonic plates, the weather, natural hazards, the solar system and how we impact our Earth for good and bad. The assignments are written to the students and many students will be able to complete the work with minimal assistance. 

Students will work through 3 units a semester. Each unit will cover 4 weeks. A few weeks will require common household items like sugar, water and cups. A materials list will be provided in week one of the class.

The class follows a consistent pattern.

• Week 1: Explore a phenomenon in the world around us.

• Week 2: Learn scientific principles that will help us explain that phenomenon.

• Week 3: Learn more scientific principles and practice explaining things we see.

• Week 4: Explain the phenomenon using knowledge we have been learning.
