Class Fees are $10 or 100 points per semester.

In Life Science students will explore principles of life. They will learn about cells, ecosystems, genetics, and how populations change over time. This class will also cover the evidence that has led to the conclusion of evolution. Students will be expected to be able to explain how the evidence supports the conclusion.

Students will work through 3 units a semester. Each unit will cover 4 weeks. A few weeks will require common household items like radish seeds (or pinto beans), dirt and dixie cups. A materials list will be provided in week one of the class.

The class follows a consistent pattern.

• Week 1: Explore a phenomenon in the world around us.

• Week 2: Learn scientific principles that will help us explain that phenomenon.

• Week 3: Learn more scientific principles and practice explaining things we see.

• Week 4: Explain the phenomenon using knowledge we have been learning.
