Anchor Jr. High Physical Science

Class Fees are $10 or 100 points per semester.

In Physical Science students will explore principles of chemistry and physics. They will cover topics like reactions, thermal energy, collisions, gravity, kinetic energy and waves. 

Students will work through 3 units a semester. Each unit will cover 4 weeks. A few weeks will require common household items to make things like slime, plastic, and paper cars to protect an egg. A materials list will be provided in week one of the class.

The class follows a consistent pattern.

• Week 1: Explore a phenomenon in the world around us.

• Week 2: Learn scientific principles that will help us explain that phenomenon.

• Week 3: Learn more scientific principles and practice explaining things we see.

• Week 4: Explain the phenomenon using knowledge we have been learning.
