6th Grade ELA Live Complete

This novel-based ELA course combines rich, grade-appropriate novels with CommonLit 360 resources to help students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. Through a blend of whole-group novel studies and skills lessons, students will dive into key literary elements and writing techniques aligned with grade-level standards. This course covers subjects such as parts of speech, vocabulary development, and figurative language, while strengthening reading skills through the exploration of plot structure, character development, conflict, and much more. Writing components will focus on paragraph structure, hooks, narrative stories, essays, and summaries. This course will explore different genres of reading, such as historical fiction, realistic fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and fantasy. Each week, students will complete a reading assignment and come prepared to discuss key elements of the text and respond to comprehension questions during a Zoom meeting, among other various assignments. The approved book list can be found in the class description in the registration system.

Cost: $200 per year (charged $100 per semester) - or 20000 points (charged 10000 points per semester) - which comes from the student's supplemental learning fund credit. Live class enrollments are for the FULL year, even though you are charged by semester.
