7th/8th Grade ELA Live Complete Journey Through the Genres

Tuesday/Thursday 9 am PT / 10 am MT / 11 am CT / 12 pm ET

Class Details:

Through a rich blend of grade-appropriate novels and CommonLit 360 resources, this course brings literature alive for readers and writers. Students will not only learn about key literary elements, from plot structure to character development and conflict, but also connect these stories to real-life events through cross-curricular studies. Writing units will cover a range of styles, including research, persuasive, narrative, and summary. Students will be expected to write three-paragraph essays. Each week, students will complete a reading assignment and come prepared to discuss key elements of the text and respond to comprehension questions during a Zoom meeting, among other various assignments. The approved book list can be found in the class description in the registration system.

Cost: $200 per year (charged $100 per semester) - or 20000 points (charged 10000 points per semester) - which comes from the student's supplemental learning fund credit. Live class enrollments are for the FULL year, even though you are charged by semester.
