CodeMonkey is a game-based coding platform designed for students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade (PreK–8). It offers a structured curriculum that progresses from block-based coding for early learners to text-based coding in real programming languages like CoffeeScript and Python for older students. Their platform fosters the development of executive functioning skills, such as problem-solving and planning as well as geometric and mathematical thinking. Grade-Level Breakdown: PreK–1st Grade: CodeMonkey Jr. introduces young learners to coding fundamentals using block-based challenges. 1st–2nd Grade: Beaver Achiever continues with block-based coding, helping students develop problem-solving skills. 3rd–5th Grade: Coding Adventure and Dodo Does Math transition students to text-based coding using CoffeeScript, integrating math concepts into coding challenges. 6th–8th Grade: Banana Tales and Coding Chatbots introduce Python programming, offering more advanced coding experiences for middle school students. The platform's progression ensures that students build upon their coding knowledge as they advance through grade levels.
