Join us as for this neat cultural event from The Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art to learn about Lunar New Year. Students will explore 3-5 works of art and learn about the entertainment, foods, and customs which will ring in this year of the horse! Students will make cross-cultural connections and discuss both similarities and differences between Lunar New Year and the celebrations surrounding January 1. This program is highly interactive and encourages students to engage through observation, inquiry, and conversation. Due to NMAA's collection strengths, content will focus on the arts of China.
