World Wildlife Day

March 3 is World Wildlife Day, a global celebration proclaimed by the United Nations to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and biodiversity.

Wildlife includes animals that live in nature — from rainforest frogs and ocean whales to desert foxes and mountain eagles. This lesson helps children understand:

• What wildlife is

• Why biodiversity matters

• How humans impact ecosystems

• What we can do to help protect animals

Featured Wildlife
